If you want to understand and minimise the impact reductions in HB will have on tenant’s income and your arrears as part of Welfare Reform and Universal Credit, we have bespoke in–house training and best practice groups.
Courses on offer include a Welfare Reforms Workshop, a Discretionary Housing Payments workshop, Basic & Advanced HB, and Best Practice workshops
Training
The Welfare Reforms workshop gives a detailed overview of the reforms and how they will impact landlords, and proactive planning/strategies you can implement to minimise the impact of the reforms.
The workshop was recently endorsed by Phil Davies, Chief Executive of Derby Homes, who said; “The Welfare Reforms workshop is extremely beneficial for staff, tenants and board members in ensuring organisations can pro-actively prepare to minimise the negative financial impact of these major reforms, on future income received from Housing Benefit and on arrears”
Other training courses include both basic and advanced HB and a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) workshop. These courses are designed to give staff working with tenants on benefits a detailed understanding of the benefits system in order to support tenants in making claims for benefits that are processed quickly, win appeals, make successful backdating requests, overturn overpayments and to make successful claims for Discretionary Housing Payments from the £60m DHP pot.
The courses are undertaken on an in-house basis, can accommodate up to 20 staff depending on your venue, and are priced on a fully inclusive basis as follows:-
The Welfare Reforms workshop £599 + VAT
The Discretionary Housing Payment workshop £599 + VAT
